Langara College & Volition Student Capstone Showcase

Within 12 short weeks, our highly talented term 4 students worked in teams of designers and developers to build professional native web and mobile apps. These user-focused and customer-centric apps were designed and developed from start to finish. Each project has a proposed business model, marketing strategy, pitch and presentation, as well as an accompanying demo of the final designed and developed app. Student projects are based on ideas that bring innovation and advancement to the tech field in Canada.

The Student Showcase not only provides invaluable experience for the soon-to-be graduate students but also offers the audience an opportunity to scout new talent and be inspired by the exciting ideas from our talented designers and developers.

This is a free event. All industry professionals and students are welcome to meet our talented teams and view their projects.

What to Expect

On December 3, join us in cheering on students from the Langara College Web & Mobile Design & Development program, who will take the virtual ‘stage’ to present their Capstone project in front of a feedback panel of leaders in the Canadian tech and startup ecosystem.

Unlike most pitch events, the panel will provide feedback and Q&A, as well as judge and select the top team/project of the event. As an attendee, you will have the opportunity to vote on the audience's favorite, as well as engage with students and panel via polls, Q&A, and Live Chat. If you feel you can support the teams or just want to connect, we’ll provide space for that as well.

For our part, we are committed to creating a comfortable and engaging space for all who attend.
